The Premier Promise – Gym Safety and You!

This year, more than ever, we need to exercise to promote good health. The Center for Disease Control (CDC) states that regular physical activity can “help boost immune function and help prevent diseases that also increase a person’s chances of having severe illness from COVID-19.”

Dr. William O. Roberts, MD, and former President of the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) says, “Moderate exercise improves your immune function and may be a factor in reducing your risk of contracting COVID-19.”

Premier Health and Fitness Center is a subsidiary of Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare (TMH) and with their oversight we can personally assure you that we have and will continue to do everything within our power to provide a safe, clean environment for you to become healthier.

Our impressive 55,000 sq. ft. facility provides you with all the space and good air circulation you need to work out comfortably. We also have measures in place for temperature checks, social distancing, mandatory masking except while exercising, and disinfecting equipment several times a day.

Are you wondering if it’s safe to return to the gym? Here’s some good news! A study by the International Health, Racquet and Sportsclub Association (IHRSA) and MXM studied 2,873 gyms, clubs and fitness centers in the United States. In three months, they catalogued over 50 million check-ins to these health clubs. Only 0.0023 percent tested positive for COVID-19. That’s 500 times less than the national average!

“The check-in data proves that health clubs – when following strict cleaning and safety protocols – are safe,” said Brent Darden, IHRSA interim President and CEO. “The data shows that, with proper sanitization protocols in place, people can safely return to their workout routines. Working out has never been more important to help boost immunity and improve mental health. It’s time to acknowledge that gyms are safe.”

Based on this study, MXM – a technology company that specializes in member tracking in the fitness industry, CEO Blair McHaney says, “It’s become abundantly clear that the safety measures gyms have in place are not only incredibly effective at keeping their membership safe, but also curbing any potential spread of COVID-19 during a time when we all need access to exercise facilities to stay healthy.”

Premier Health and Fitness Center reopened its doors over five months ago. Since that time we have had no major COVID outbreaks or hotspots that have required us to close our doors again. We work closely with TMH to ensure that our safety measures will give you peace of mind. Now it’s up to you to earn the rewards of physical fitness, mental health, and a hearty immune system.
