Sports Massage

This special form of massage is geared towards athletes, to facilitate their performance and recovery. It is used before, during, and after athletic events to prepare the athlete, revitalize fatigued bodies, relieve and reduce muscle tension, to promote flexibility and to prevent injuries. Depending on the needs of the athlete, a variety of techniques are used that draw from other modalities, such as myofascial release, deep tissue, and neuromuscular therapy. Joint mobilization and stretching is often incorporated into a sports massage session. The goal of sports massage is to cause tissues to lengthen, release and maintain optimum health.

Relaxation and Stress Relief

Also known as Swedish massage, this is the most popular type of massage. It provides a removal of tension, an increase in blood circulation, improvement in flexibility, and also stimulates the nervous system and soothes the nerves, reducing both emotional and physical stress. A relaxation massage releases toxins from the muscles by flushing lactic acids, uric acids, and other type of metabolic wastes out of body tissues.
